After all that i remembered i could ... Maybe they were both imprisoned separately, but Greirat managed to escape and freed all other prisoners before he left and Patches happened to be among those. (The latter would be a long time before DS3. Greirat said he was quite notorious, so he probably was a thief for many years and had many heists.
